FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) Same stock picked twice in a row; is it broken? The chances of getting the same stock twice in a row are one divided by the number of stocks picked from. So for the 30 Dow industrials, there is a relatively good chance, 1 in 30, of getting the same stock twice in a row, but only a 1 in 900 chance of getting the same stock three times in a row. We are still developing this site. Currently we use a standard programming function to pick a random number which in turn is used to pick the stock. We plan to write a special function to assure the highest degree of randomness, but for almost any ordinary use the function already in use is plenty random. |
